Rather send them a locked document that's very clear with the details. You don't want to send the client a Word document that they can edit. When you create the invoice, I strongly suggest saving as a PDF file. But if you have to do this a lot, I would encourage you to look at a dedicated invoicing tool. Both of these two programs work great together. So this makes it simple to migrate that data from one app to the other if you want to use it to do your math. And the new numbers came into play, which is pretty cool. If you feel like either double-checking your numbers or speeding things up, notice there, how it's easy to just copy that across. This information then can be easily copied to your clipboard and then moved here into Word where you could paste that information into that document as well. As you get to the bottom there, we can easily add up a range of cells with sum. For example, we can format those cells and indicate that they're currency, and it updates. Notice with the cell selected, you'll also find the ability to quickly format the data. One of those at 1500, then this cell is equal to this multiplied by this. For example, we can say things like pre-production. If you need to do simple mathematical formulas, you could take advantage of Excel here as well. And what you're really getting here is a simple layout to help you speed things up. They're just Word documents that you can customize. These templates are pretty straightforward. The print dialog can be just invoked by clicking on Print, and you can generate a PDF for shipping. And this will allow you to attach a PDF, for example, directly to an email. You could do that by clicking on this Share button here, and then send a copy. When you're all done, you can go ahead and print the document as well as easily export it to something like a PDF. Include any information about sales tax, shipping and handling, et cetera. I would suggest using a calculator or a spreadsheet to help you double check your work. However, this does work nicely, so you can still see how these pieces are being built. Now, what you'll need to do is do your own math because it's not going to carry it across. Then you can start to add your information. Feel free to include any additional instructions here. Enter the name of your client, as well as their information. Always assign a date that the invoice is being delivered. Be sure to give it a unique number for the invoice. What you want to do here is add the relevant information. Now the exact layout of tools is slightly different between Mac and Windows, but they're very similar. Choose one that you like and click Create. Some of these are very stylized, while others are pretty simple. And this lets me see a wide range of options. For example, I could choose to search for an invoice template. Then, in the search field, just enter something that you're looking for. If you don't, you can choose File, New From Template. When you launch Microsoft Word, you'll likely see the new template chooser. This is a standard word processor that's included with Microsoft Office, and you should be able to do this very easily because there are templates included. But let me show you a simple method using Microsoft Word. There are many different ways to create an invoice, including dedicated accounting systems.
